Reinforced Concrete comprises 15 illustrations with accompanying texts depicting/describing reinforced concrete structures in Estonia and in the Lake Superior copper district in Michigan, USA. The reinforced concrete structures in Michigan, USA are predominantly derelict industrial works, while those in Estonia, all dating from the Soviet era, are predominantly civil infrastructure. Illustrations are minimalist abstractions letterpress printed from wood type. Texts were letterpress printed from photopolymer plates. Illustrations and text were imprinted onto 175 gsm Somerset Book paper using a Vandercook No. 4 proofing press. The edition will be case bound with cover paper from Papeterie Saint-Armand's colors line and a book cloth spine.

CENTENNIAL No. 6
2018, Prints 6" x 11", Portfolio 6-5/8" x 11-3/8" Centennial No. 6 is a suite of four letterpress printed broadsides describing the Centennial No. 6 mine, mill, and surrounding landscape near Calumet, Michigan. Centennial No. 6 was the last active copper mine in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Texts printed on the broadsides describe mining and milling practices, and the lingering environmental effects of the mining operation, primarily in the form of the 40-acre tailings pond illustrated in the fourth broadside. Centennial No. 6 illustrations are multi-block linocut reduction prints. Illustrations and text were imprinted onto 250 gsm Rives BFK paper using a Vandercook No. 4 proofing press. CEDAR RIVER ELECTRIC GLASS
2016, 6-1/4" x 9-1/2", 32pp Cedar River Electric Glass is an experimental prose text by Daniel Schneider documenting human incursions on the Cedar River in Antrim County, Michigan. Illustrations are composed from pieces of wood type wood, lead type ornaments, brass rule, and copper printer's cuts. The text was written during the winter/spring of 2015/2016, composed on a Linotype Model 31, and imprinted onto Hahnemühle Biblio paper using a Vandercook 219 Old Style proofing press. BEET ROMANCE
2015, 6-1/4" x 5-1/2", 10pp "Beet Romance" is a short fictional story by Daniel Schneider about bohemianism, love, and root vegetables. The text was typeset by hand in Drew and imprinted on white Somerset Book paper using a Vandercook 219 Old Style proofing press. Illustrations are original linocuts by the author.
